Junk removal in Old Townsite
The original town grid near Main Street and the rail line is where Pearland’s longest-held houses are. Pearland had 1,910 people when it incorporated in 1959; some of the families who were here then never moved, and neither did their belongings.
Why It Heads This List
The areas on this site are ordered by where the biggest cleanouts tend to come from, and a house owned by one family for decades is the biggest there is. Old Townsite lots are generally larger and older than the master-planned subdivisions, with detached garages, carports, workshops and sheds that were added over the years and filled as they went.
Many of the houses are pier-and-beam rather than slab, with a crawl space underneath. That space is worth a look before a cleanout is priced: old lumber, pipe and tile get pushed under houses and forgotten.
What Usually Comes Out
From the workshop
Bench tools, scrap lumber, coffee cans of hardware, an old compressor.
From the shed
Mowers, gas cans, fertilizer and paint. The chemicals go to drop-off, not the truck.
From the house
A piano, a cedar chest, a deep freezer, furniture built to last and weigh accordingly.
City Service Applies Here
Old Townsite is inside Pearland’s city limits, so City residential customers here have Frontier Waste Solutions bulk pickup for the smaller items, up to two cubic yards. The recycling drop-off on Magnolia Parkway is a short drive. What neither handles is the full-house job: that is when a crew is worth calling.
