Hot tub removal in Pearland
A hot tub went into the backyard before the fence, the landscaping or the patio cover did. Getting it out is mostly a question of the path from the pad to the street, and whether it leaves whole or in pieces.

The Three Questions That Set the Quote
- 1
How wide is the path?
Measure the narrowest point between the tub and the driveway: usually the side gate, sometimes an AC unit or a gas meter sticking into the side yard. A tub on its side needs clearance for its depth plus the dolly.
- 2
Is it still wired?
A tub on a dedicated circuit has to be shut off at its disconnect before anyone moves it. If the wiring itself is being taken out or capped, that is work for a licensed electrician, not the hauling crew.
- 3
Is it drained?
Drain it a day or two ahead so the shell and cover have time to dry. A partly full tub is far heavier and slides on a dolly.
Whole or Cut Up
Whole
When the path is wide enough, the tub goes onto its side on heavy dollies and rolls out. Fast and clean, and it keeps the option of resale if it still works.
In pieces
When the fence, the house or a pool is in the way, the crew cuts the cabinet and shell into sections in place. It takes longer and leaves foam and fiberglass dust to sweep, which the quote should cover.
The pad and the steps
The concrete pad or pavers usually stay. Wooden steps, a surround and a gazebo are separate items; say whether they go too.
Pearland Backyards
Most Pearland houses sit on a slab with a fenced backyard and a side gate on one or both sides, often next to the AC condenser. In the master-planned neighborhoods west of SH 288, such as Shadow Creek Ranch and Southern Trails, lots are narrower and the side yards tighter than in the older sections of town, which makes the cut-up route more common there.
Pearland’s curbside bulk collection is not built for this. Frontier Waste Solutions, the City’s residential hauler, caps a bulk pickup at two cubic yards and turns away lumber, so a tub and its wooden surround are a private haul, not a curb item.
Asked About This One
Can a hot tub go out through the house?
Rarely. Interior doors and halls are narrower than side gates, and floors get scraped. The side yard or cutting it up are the usual answers.
Will the crew disconnect the electrical?
The tub must be shut off at its disconnect before it moves. Removing or capping the circuit is electrician’s work; ask the contractor whether they coordinate that or whether you should.
Does a working tub get resold?
Sometimes. If it still runs and the cover is sound, mention it; a hauler may price it differently or suggest listing it first.
