Attic cleanouts in Pearland
A Pearland house on a slab stores its overflow overhead, in the attic above the garage or a hallway, reached by a folding ladder. Summer attic temperatures here run well above 120 degrees, which decides when the work can happen.

Why It Is Slower Than It Looks
One ladder, one box at a time
A pull-down ladder takes one person carrying one box. Everything comes down by hand, so an attic of boxes takes longer than a garage of the same volume.
Walk on the boards
Many attics have a plywood walkway and loose insulation between the joists everywhere else. Stepping off the boards means a foot through the ceiling.
Heat
In summer a crew works early in the morning or not at all. Ask what time they plan to start.
Before You Book It
- 1
Look first, with a flashlight
Know roughly how many boxes and whether there is anything big: a disassembled crib, holiday decorations, old luggage.
- 2
Check for pests
Droppings, chewed boxes or nesting material change the job. Say so; a hauler may want the attic treated before the crew goes up.
- 3
Clear the floor below
The ladder lands in a hallway or a garage bay. Move the car and anything under it.
What Often Turns Up
Boxes that went up during a move and never came down: tax returns, photo albums, children’s schoolwork. On an estate or a long-held house, open a sample of them before they are loaded. Paperwork that should be shredded rather than hauled is worth pulling out; the Stella Roberts Recycling Center holds paper-shredding events.
Asked About This One
Can they remove old insulation?
That is a different trade. Insulation removal and replacement is usually done by an insulation contractor with vacuum equipment, not a hauling crew.
Is it safe to go into an attic in August?
Only in the early morning, with water and a short shift. Many crews schedule attic work in the cooler months when they can.
Do I need to be home?
Usually yes, at least at the start, to show which boxes go and which stay.
